From central government departments to state government departments, public sector organizations, banks, tri-forces, railways, etc. Jobs with B. Tech qualifications are in many departments. For this, the relevant departments are conducting selection processes.
Engineering Services Exam, ESE
ESE or Indian Engineering Services Exam is the most prestigious exam for Engineering Graduates. It Provides high-level jobs to B. Tech students at the national level. It is a good way to place engineering departments in central government departments. If you clear this exam then you can be promoted to engineers in Group-A and Group-B cadres in central government departments.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE Exam
A national-level exam written by a large number of B.Tech candidates to get placed in PSUs with a GATE score. This exam is for getting admission into M.Tech/Ph.D in leading educational institutes like IITs, NITs, and IISc. But on the basis of this score, you can also compete for jobs in Public Sector Undertakings, Maharatna, Navratna, and Miniratna status Organizations as Trainee Engineers, Executive Engineers, and as well as Service Commission. If you apply to the respective PSUs on the basis of your GATE score you can directly get into the next stage of group discussion and interviews and the appointments are finalized.
Indian Forest Service
Another opportunity available to B. Tech Graduates in terms of central government jobs is the Indian Forest Service Examination. This selection process with B.Sc and B.Tech qualifications will be in three stages Prelims, Mains, and Personal Interviews. Final winners will be announced and selected for IFS based on merit in the Main and Personality Test.
Specialist Officers - Banking Sector
Specialist Officer jobs in the banking sector are available for B.Tech candidates. IT Officers, System Administrators, Network Engineers, Data Engineers, etc. are available for Scale-1 level. B.Tech with Computer Applications, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation branches can apply. IBPS will undertake this recruitment process in three stages- Prelims, Mains, and Personal Interviews. If Candidate succeeds in all these three categories and stands as the final winner, then the appointment is final.
DRDO Scientist-B Jobs. RAC of DRDO undertakes job placements in all 17 subject areas. Along with B.Tech, they must pass GATE in the subject paper for which they want to apply. For many posts, the selection is done directly on the basis of the GATE score and for some posts, the selection is made on the basis of the GATE score along with a personal interview.
B.Tech students can qualify in the Central Government Departments through the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Through this examination for Group-B level Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Engineer posts in various departments including Electronics and Information Technology.
State Government Jobs
B. Tech students have opportunities to become engineers in state government departments as well. These appointments will be made through TSPSC, APPSC, KPSC, MPSC, ODSC, and BPSC in State Electricity Boards, Irrigation and Command Area Development, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Ground Water Resources, Transport Department, and Municipal Administration.
Combined Defense Services Examination CDSE
There is a requirement that candidates of the Naval Academy must have passed B.Tech. Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy in this exam conducted for permanent commission rank jobs. B. Tech candidates have the option to apply for the Naval Academy as well as the other three departments.
CAPF-AC Central Armed Police Forces(CAPF)-Assistant Commandants(AC)
Another big opportunity for B.Tech students can compete for government jobs. Border Security Force (BSF) referred to as Central Armed Forces; Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF); Central Industrial Security Force (CISF); Indo-Tibetan Police Force (ITBP); UPSC conducts the selection process for the Assistant Commandant posts in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). This entire process takes place in three stages.
Indian Army Technical Graduate Jobs
A good way for B.Tech candidates who want to join the army. Engineering graduates and final-year students can also apply for this. First shortlisting is done considering the percentage of marks of the candidates in B. Tech. SSB interviews will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates. Those who succeed in this will be trained for a year at the Indian Military Academy. Candidates who successfully complete this also get a permanent commission with the rank of Lieutenant in the Army.
Indian Navy University Entry Scheme (UES)
Way to enter the Navy directly from campus - University Entry Scheme. Appointments are made in Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission through UES. This selection process is done once a year. Teams of Navy officers visit top institutes in the country and conduct campus interviews. Appointments will be finalized for those who have shown talent in them. Final-year engineering students are eligible to apply in 18 branches with 60% marks till the fourth semester.
Navy Graduate Entry Scheme
This scheme is available for B.Tech graduates in Indian Navy as Pilot (MR); Pilot (AMR); Observer; Air Traffic Controller; General Service Executive (GSX); Hydro Division; Naval Architect; Information Technology; Logistics; Education; measures are filled in Naval Armament Inspectoræ cadres.
Navy Engineering Officer
The posts of Engineer Officer (General Service), Sub-marine Technical Officer, Naval Architect Officer, Electrical Officer (General Service), and Electrical Officer (Sub-marine) are filled in the Navy. For this one should have passed B.Tech in a relevant specialization. A merit list will be made based on the marks in BTech and shortlisted based on Interviews.
Air Force AFCAT
There are many opportunities available in Airforce as well. Indian Air Force's own recruitment process requires passing the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test). One can compete for various technical parameters in flying branch and ground duty sections through this test. If you want to enter the flying branch, you should have passed your BE/B. Tech/M. Tech with 60% marks from a recognized university.
