Do you Know Students? Those who have completed petroleum engineering courses are in demand in India and Abroad.

Especially at present, the exploration of oil and natural gas deposits in the country is going on extensively. There are enough opportunities in the public and private sector organizations of the country. Especially in companies such as Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Oil India Limited (OIL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited, Reliance Gas Corporation Limited, Assam Petroleum Limited, and others.

Petroleum Engineer Salaries

The oil sector will continue to grow. So those who have completed petroleum engineering are getting good jobs. They can also get attractive salaries. After completion of the petroleum engineering course, the annual starting salary is about Rs.5 lakh to Rs.8 lakh. If you get an opportunity in PSUs and companies like ONGC through GATE rank, you will get an annual salary of more than Ten lakh rupees per annum. Experienced people get huge salaries in Gulf countries. Salaries and other allowances are also given to those working in onshore and offshore departments abroad.

Petroleum Engineer Offers on Campus Placements

Opportunities in the petroleum sector are increasing every year. Currently, Petroleum Engineering has developed as a separate department in the country. Those who complete Petroleum Engineering Course in 2023 get jobs with huge salaries on the campus itself. JNTU Kakinada started this department in 2010 as one of the engineering branches, and six batches of students went out. All are well-settled in their careers. Being close to ONGC and Reliance Gas Industries, they train students in live projects with the experts there. Those who have done petroleum courses are in demand all over the world.

Petroleum Engineer Roles & Responsibilities

A petroleum engineer's roles and responsibilities include participation in almost all phases of field appraisal, development, and production. Their approach is to maximize hydrocarbon recovery at the lowest possible cost while placing a priority on minimizing environmental effects.

Petroleum engineers are divided into several groups:

Petroleum Geologists: Find hydrocarbons by analyzing subsurface structures with geological and geophysical methods.

Reservoir Engineers: Work to maximize oil and gas production through effective good placement, production rates, and enhanced oil recovery methods. They anticipate the potential of reservoirs and help identify risks using computer simulations.

Production Engineers: Controls the interface between the reservoir and the well-using tools including downhole flow management, perforations, sand control, artificial lift, and downhole monitoring systems. Additionally, they choose surface machinery that separates the created fluids (oil, natural gas, and water).

Drilling Engineers: Engineers that supervise the technical facets of drilling injection and production wells are known as drilling engineers. Along with other engineers, scientists, drilling teams, and contractors, they collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
