GATE 2023 Notification is released and IIT Kanpur is conducting the GATE 2023 exam after 7 years. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national-level exam and the competition for GATE Exam is almost ten lakhs every year. It is increasing every year by about 10% and in 2021 there are 8.5 lakh appeared for the exam.

GATE 2022 Exam conducting body is IIT Kanpur which is known for moderate to difficult levels of the exam when compared to other IITs.  As we know every year’s question paper depends upon the organizing institutes,  paper pattern and subject-wise weightage will change.  In 2015 IIT Kanpur conducted the GATE Exam last time in 22 streams of papers.  Here’s a complete analysis of the previous year's question papers of IIT Kanpur.

IIT Kanpur Previous Year GATE Exam Analysis

IIT Kanpur GATE Previous year exam papers and pattern of questions are analyzed as medium to difficult. The questions asked in the papers consist of Numerical Answer Type NAT Questions,  Fill in the Blanks, and MCQs.

In 2015 IIT Kanpur conducted the GATE Exam and made a lot of changes to existing methods. They are:

  1. The entire application process for the GATE Exam was made online in 2015 which is an initiative of IIT Kanpur.
  2. The uploading of documents and Exam fee Payment Process was changed to Online mode.
  3. The GATE Exam Score Validity has been increased to 3 years from the year 2015, Prior it has one validity.
  4. There are changes like the question review option being added to students' GATE Exam dashboard. With this option, students can review their attempted and not attempted questions while writing the exam. Students can also mark the question for later if not sure about the answer.
  5. After the GATE exam, if the student wanted to check the entire paper to analyze their exam, the GATE applicant can log in to the GATE Official Website and proceed to the dashboard to view the  Exam Paper.

Highlights of IIT Kanpur GATE CSE Exam

  • The CSE paper level of difficulty was less when compared to the previous year's GATE Paper.
  • The Exam Pattern and direction of questions are the same as the previous year's question paper.

Highlights of IIT Kanpur GATE ECE Exam

  • On the IIT Kanpur GATE 2015 Exam ECE syllabus was almost covered with all topics and some new topics were also covered such as Semiconductor memories, GSM in communications, DFT in signals and Systems, EDC Lifetime of carriers, etc.
