Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group 4 Exam Structure

Compared to the first three groups, this tier is easy for exam preparation. There are only two papers to qualify in the TSPSC Group 4.

The TSPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern consists of two subjects. Both these subjects test the generic and secretarial knowledge of aspirants. In addition, aspirants also need to appear for skill tests in case of profiles like typist or steno.

Here’s the exam structure of the Telangana State Public Service Commission Group 4 recruitment:

Secretarial Abilities

There are 300 objective-based questions in the TSPSC Group 4 exams. Both the papers have equal weightage along with similar duration. Hence, candidates should dedicate sufficient time to study the syllabus of both the group 4 papers.

In the General Awareness paper, students need to study different generic topics. Here are some of the main chapters:

  • General Science
  • Current Affairs
  • Geography and Economy of Telangana
  • History of Telangana State and Telangana Movement
  • International Relations and Events

On the other hand, the Secretarial Abilities consist of the following subtopics:

  • Numerical and Arithmetical abilities
  • Mental Ability
  • Comprehension
  • Rearrangement of sentences
  • Logical Reasoning

Due to a compact syllabus, candidates can easily focus on each section. Hence, this tier can be highly competitive in terms of the merit list and overall scoring.

In terms of scoring, the TSPSC Group 4 exam pattern will follow a unique format. Here’s a brief breakdown of the marking pattern:

  • Both papers will have a division of two sections
  • For each correct answer, there will be a reward of one mark
  • On the other hand, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers

Hence, aspirants need to be highly sure of an answer before finalizing. The negative marking is most likely applicable for this year too as TSPSC does not alter the pattern.
