EAMCET 2023 Update: No More Weightage for Inter Marks!
The Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) has persistently acted as a standardized test to accept admissions for the corresponding fields. Organized by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, it is mandatory for consideration of admissions across several colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The examination structure resembles most of the other standardized tests all over India. The paper comprises a total of 160 objective-type questions, which are to be answered in three hours. The mode of the examination is strictly online.
While the structure and pattern of the examination remain the same every year, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has specified some changes in the TS EAMCET Weightage 2023.
About the EAMCET 2023 Examination
While the official circular for EAMCET 2023 has yet to be released by TSCHE, some standard details are provided to help students prepare for the examination. For one, the next iteration of the TS EAMCET examination is scheduled to be held in the second week of July 2023.
The TSCHE will provide the circular and application of the examination on their official website, which is estimated to accept applications until the end of May 2023, considering previous years' dates. The TS EAMCET admit card will be released one week before the EAMCET 2023 Exam.
While these details are yet to be verified by the university, the change in TS EAMCET 2023 IPE weightage is confirmed, awaiting an official notice from the board.
Discussing the Changes to the Weightage
TS EAMCET 2023 will be the first iteration of the examination, where TSCHE will officially remove the 25% weightage given to intermediate marks Officially. Essentially, admissions to agricultural, medical, and engineering courses in Telangana for the academic year 2023-24 will be strictly according to the scores obtained in the TS EAMCET 2023.
During the pandemic, the TSCHE had not considered intermediate marks for deciding the final rank of the EAMCET examination. However, this change was made without prior notice. Starting in 2023, the IPE weightage is believed to be permanently waived off for all applicants appearing for EAMCET. Public and private universities in Telangana will only consider the scores acquired in the EAMCET for admission. An official notification from the TSCHE regarding the same will be released soon.
The news might be a relief to hundreds of applicants preparing for the TS EAMCET 2023. Let's discuss how the changes in the TS EAMCET weightage are helpful for students planning to appear for the examination.
How can Students Benefit from the Change in Weightage?
The TSCHE is expected to follow the format of other standardized examinations like JEE and remove the criteria of having intermediate marks in TS EAMCET 2023. The removal of IPE weightage now means that only the TS EAMCET 2023 rank will be considered for admission to several universities in Telangana.
In combination, these changes will prove helpful to the students and help them in the following ways.
- Reduces the stress of excelling in intermediate examinations. Since the portion for EAMCET largely resembles the board syllabus of 11th and 12th, this news is a relief to students from other boards who can focus their efforts on preparing for the examination.
- Helps them receive their results faster. Due to the time-consuming process of converting students' grades from other boards to consider IPE weightage, the EAMCET results were often delayed. Since the results of the previous year's EAMCET examinations were obtained before the expected date, diverging from intermediate marks also looks promising for the TS EAMCET 2023 results.
Irrespective of their intermediate marks, students are qualified to appear for the TS EAMCET 2023 test. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to get into the coveted and competitive fields of medicine, engineering, and agriculture to increase their career prospects and secure high-paying roles.
In light of the new guidelines related to Intermarks, candidates have the option for dedicated preparation for TS EAMCET 2023. While self-preparation can be effective and fetch your desired results, coaching centers are more prominent when you have limited time for your preparation.
Enrolling in an online course for EAMCET is valuable and provides access to pre-prepared resources that have been tried and tested by previous batches.
