Exam time is naturally a stressful situation. Expectation to recall extensive information is compounded by intense competition, the pressure of expectations from family/friends, and the overwhelming importance of top grades. All these combine to increase the stress on students during exams. Too much stress on exams actually affects the learning process. It finally boils down to studying hard. As a result, grades can be adversely affected. So, Students can fall into the trap of such a negative feeling. However, if you want to avoid falling into such a trap – there are many things to focus on while preparing for, during, or after the exams.
Read the Syllabus carefully
It's not how much you study, what you study makes you successful. for any competitive exam, you are preparing for. just read the relevant syllabus. you should know the pattern of questions in the previous exams, if you study hard with proper planning you will get successful.
Reduce Stress
From Civils to Groups, ESE to GATE any competitive exam, whatever exam are you preparing for? There should be clarity on how to prepare to succeed in it. Many students prepare for months. But can't succeed. Because it depends on how much importance should be given to the syllabus. And they’re not aware of the pattern of questions in the exam? As there is no clarity on how to utilize every minute during the exam. From the start of the preparation to the completion of the exam, they squat down in front of the target with anxiety and stress. That is why we should reduce the burden and pressure on ourselves as much as possible. Reading every material available in the market is also a waste of time. You don't need to read enough to master a single topic. It is enough to prepare according to the number of marks allotted for the topic.
Do not Compare with Others
For any competitive exam, how much concentration you study is more important than how many hours you study. Never compare yourself with others. Don't make comparisons like they have been studying for many years and have covered many subjects. Check whether you have prepared properly for the questions asked in the exam. Reading without proper sleep is of no use. The body must get enough sleep.
Make Short Notes
If we reduce mental anxiety as much as possible we can study the subject correctly. While answering the questions in a competitive exam think for 20 seconds about how to write the answer and frame that answer in mind. If you write in the frame thus formed, you can write the answer at the right time. At each stage, each preparation should be clear about what is necessary and what is not. Otherwise, we will lose valuable time. Make short notes on your own during the preparation time. This is very important in revision. With this, it is enough to read the short notes once at the end without having to go through the entire material. We gain confidence in ourselves.
Sleep for Enough Time
Good food and adequate sleep on time are essential during preparation. If you spend long hours studying to see if you have the energy, all your hard work will be wasted. Six months is enough for those who are just starting their preparation for any exam if they’ve full dedication. Plan to study at least 10 to 12 hours a day.
Make a Hobby
If we keep our minds relaxed we can remember more of what we read. Also, if you drink chai with other friends who are in preparation and discuss any topic in a relaxed way, the time will come together. The way we look at a subject makes a difference in the way others perceive it. So discussion helps to learn more. It is especially useful for writing papers.
